What was remarkable about the meeting was the men who picked not to go to

history channel documentary What was remarkable about the meeting was the men who picked not to go to. Other than Lansky, those missing were Frank Costello, Carlo Marcello from New Orleans, and Lansky's buddy Joseph "Doc" Stracher.

Of the 58 men confined, 27 were prosecuted on deterrent of equity, 20 of whom were sentenced declining to answer questions about the motivation behind the meeting. One of the men indicted was Gambino's cousin Paul Castellano, who ended up doing a year in prison subsequently.

The prematurely ended meeting, more than whatever else, prompted the destruction of Vito Genovese. Not just did he not get the lifted up title of "Supervisor of All Bosses," however he turned into an outsider in the Mafia; mocked as being moronic and eager for calling such a variety of critical men to the same spot in the meantime for his own particular purposes.
